So you like playing blackjack? Well you are in the right place. Blackjack looks like a simple game. Get closer to 21 than the dealer without going over and you win! It's also an easy game to grasp which is why it's probably the most popular table game at any casino.
After playing for a while, without paying much attention to my overall strategy, I started to notice that I wasn't always making the same choices. Sometimes I would hit on 16 or hit on 17. Sometimes I would stand on 15. I pretty much relied on my gut to tell me what to do. And I always only ever took hits or stood as I didn't have a clue what splitting or doubling down was. Then I started thinking as I watched other players at the table. They seemed quick to make decisions and seemed to know at lot more than I did. Well to make a long story short, I read a few book and visited tons of web sites.
After spending many hours reading about blackjack I decided to put all of my knowledge down on paper. Then I though, I already know this so what am I doing? So I decided to create this site.
Playing smart doesn't mean you need to play with 100% perfection, just know the basics and enjoy the game. Following some basic strategy can make the game more enjoyable. I have broken the bulk of learning blackjack down into 5 lessons that I think provides a good overview of the entire game. There are some other sites out there that go into more detail than I do on this site.
Playing smart also means playing for fun. And blackjack should be fun. If you stop having fun or find yourself trying to dig yourself out of a hole, stop and you should probably get help.
